Hi everyone. Sorry we could not write any sooner. We are not too close to an internet cafe. After 18 hours of flying and waiting at airports we arrived safely on Tuesday. We have already visited 3 orphanages in the city of Dnepropetrovsk. The orphans have been entertained by a musical drama team consisting of 12 children ages 9-13 years old led by 4 teachers. Their presentation has been great and all the orphanages really enjoyed their drama. Many of the orphans remembered us and were so happy to see us again. they miss the other team members that have come in the past. (maybe next year guys) We visited the Schevchenko orphanage again ( the one that is extremely poor without a soccer field). They are in need of sports equipment and the director has asked us to buy 70 pairs of running shoes for the children. Some of your donations will fill that need. Many of the children are walking barefoot or with old used shoes and sandals. The director was very happy to hear that we were going to buy that for them. She had tears in her eyes as we spoke to her. We also returned to the orphanage with many children diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and other disorders. It was beautiful to see our drama team integrate with these children. For some it was the first time they ever saw children with disabilities. They were touched!!We have been invited back again. Tomorrow Sat. we are visiting the physically disabled children and will be seeing some of the children who have had their surgeries. In the evening we will be visiting the drug rehab we helped renovate several years ago. There are men living there and want to share a meal with us.Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. We meet with Ed Dickson on Monday. I will try to blog next week.
